In response, we've created the Big MedComms Salary & Careers Survey 2027, which is now live on MedComms.Jobs, pobl's dedicated job board for MedComms. Independent and repeated annually, the survey aims to become the definitive, freely accessible salary benchmark for all MedComms professionals throughout the world.
Currently, there are no clearly defined salary brackets for roles across MedComms. Previous salary studies have drawn on small pools of responses, which have limited how reliable, and therefore how useful, the findings were for MedComms professionals.
Salaries in MedComms can vary considerably depending on role, seniority, company size and type of organisation. Without dependable data, it is difficult to know how much your skills and experience are worth, as there is no definitive figure to compare them against. This survey has been designed to address that gap.
The more MedComms professionals who take part, the more accurate and reliable the results will be.
The survey is open to MedComms professionals anywhere in the world, including agency staff, freelancers and contractors, and in-house pharma teams.
It covers all MedComms career areas. As job titles and structures differ between companies, respondents can select the level that most closely matches their role where an exact title is not listed.
The survey is completely anonymous, and no names, email addresses or employer details are requested at any point. It takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and can be accessed on desktop or mobile.
The survey is open until Friday 29 January 2027, with results published in spring 2027. This timeframe allows for a sufficiently large and representative sample. Once the results are out, key insights will be shared, and a dashboard will later be added to MedComms.Jobs so that anyone can search salary bandings.
This is the first version of the survey, and future editions will build on this format with additional reporting categories.
